Welcome to K2's FAQ section!

If you have any questions you'd like me to add, leave comment and I'll update with the answer.
Also please tell me what you think about what I posted here.

All of those questions in my FAQ have been asked once or more times.

:star: - About me and me as artist – :star:

Q: How did you come up with KibaKazuki and your current nickname 'K2'?
A: Kiba Kazuki was my very first character I originally designed for a story I wanted to write and illustrate but that I abandoned a while ago. I don't identify myself with this name anymore but since it's my dA name, I keep it as artist's name, and I'm quite fine with that.
A friend of mine came up with 'K2' during a conversation, actually related to the KylexKenny shipping. I made it my official nickname because it fits with the kapital letters of my artist's name, that's all.

Q: What kind of teaching/schooling have you had?
A: In school we do have a 45 minutes of drawing lessons per week where we mostly have to copy stuff from printed out pictures and put some glitter on them which my school proudly calls 'art'. Also my art teacher isn't able to to show me new techniques and tips at all so I can say I tought everything I know myself with tutorials, studying anytomy and other people's art.

Q: What is your favourite animal?
A: I find all animals beautiful in their own way but the ones that fascinates me most are – surprise – spiders. To cuddle I prefer my fluffy cats though.

Q: Do you have pets?
A: Yes, even though I don't like the word 'pets'. My two cats are more family members. I grew up with the older one and he's like a big brother for me. The young one is not even a year old and he's like a little brother or maybe even a son for me.

Q: Do you have siblings?
A: Nope, I'm only child.

Q: Sexual orientation?
A: Use your imagination for that.

Q: What kind of sports are you practising?
A: I go jogging, biking, inline skating, do yoga and muscle training. Is online Poker a sport too? *smirk*

Q: How long have you been drawing?
A: Actually since I can think back. I've been drawing almost everyday in kindergarten and elementary school. But to be honest, I was really bad until 5th grade and everyone could easily beat me in competitions. But after joining dA and working harder it went better from year to year.

Q: Do you do commissions?
A: Yes, for quite normal prices, check out my commission FAQ and information here: kibakazuki.deviantart.com/jour…

Q: What's your favorite thing to draw?
A: I adore drawing humans with mechanical body parts, tattoos or machines in general. Orignal art include my charcters or art that I did for myslf is usually very emotional, that's how I express my feelings and what I live for.

Q: And your least favorite thing to draw?
A: Insects and environments only are pretty boring to draw. in my opinion.

Q: Which artists, whether on dA or not, and which epoche interests and inspires you most?
A: I found my biggest inspirations here, Ecthelian, NovaEden, .devhamletmachine: and yuumei who influence my art a lot, they're all three pretty modern, like most of my favourite artworks are. However there are still a few drawings from Dali, Van Gogh and Gaugain I enjoy looking at.

Q: What kind of art do you not like?
A: I am not really interested in art done in someone else's style, such as drawings done in a specific anime's style, I don't find it not very original at all. Also, I cannot really identify myself with nude photography.

Q: You are at very young age! Don't you think it's a bit early to call yourself a professional artist already?
A: I've heard this question multiple times and it hurts me everytime. I think it depends on your skills, occurrence and knowledge in art whether you can call yourself a professonal or not, really not the age.

Q: Are you religious?
A: Heh, good question. Officially I am christ but I never go to church and have my own, non posive views about the katholic church. I go more into the esoteric directon in a normal way, because I've made incredible experiences with these mights already and they once even saved my life. I am quite interested in other religions and enjoy talking with members of those about their believes a lot.

Q. Are you involved in any fandoms/ what are your current obsession
A: I'm currently sort of a really obsessed fan of the fantastic webcomic Homestuck which has been created by Andrew Hussie. Also, look through the fanart folder in my gallery to find out about other fandoms!

Q: Can I draw you something? If yes, what do you like to see?
A: Of course you can! And style, skills nor technique is important for that. I would love to see drawings of my OC's or my favourite TV shows and animes!

:star:- Me on dA + my relationship to dA  - :star:

Q: On some other sites your name is Luhsan or Luhsanka, what does that mean?
A: That's quite simple: My alter ego's name WAS Luhsan and she plays an important role in my comic I'm working on. The 'ka' is just a nice addition with no background at all.

Q: I know you as very active, friendly and helpful person here on dA, but lately you just didn't show any interest in community and effort to help new artsist here.
A: I apologise if I didn't answer but I rarely find time to be very active on here. I have a rather overfilled schedule as you can see: I still go to school , I work as a waitress-cook combination at a restaurant, I have to work on my homework and study a lot for passing the next grade, work on many commissions and my personal art projects, take care of my cats and spend time with them and I need to go through a hard sports programm in order to stay fit and keep my circulation.
I try my best to to help you though but sometimes it just takes weeks until you get a reply.

Q: You didn't reply on my comment/note! Do you hate me or what?
A: Of course I don't! I get around 400 activity messages per day and there is a chance that I've just overseen your comment or note. If I didn't answer, feel free to poke me again!

Q: I've seen a mistake in your art. Will you hate me if I post a critique?
A: the complete opposite! I am always glad when someone helps me to improve. So please post as many (honest!) critiques as you want!

Q: I commissioned you/finished my part of our trade ages ago, when will you finally finish yours?
A: I'm sorry if you didn't receive your promised drawing, I do have a very overloaded schedule. Check the 2nd question from above in this section.

Q: There is lots of fangirling around dA, what do you think of it?
That's an issue to deal with caution.
Fangirling is nothing for me and when I say I'm in love wih a character it means I am fascinated by their personality, story and design and absolutely NOT that I have fantasies about making out with them, having perfect sex and a happy family with them, etc.
It can be really dangerous because fangirling often has the effect of drugs, your brain notices it makes you happy disappearing into this perfect world you and your 'boyfriend' have, produces more enorphins and you're quickly stuck in a vicious circle with sometimes even having hallucinations and losing reality.
Though I love dreaming about what my OC's are doing the whole day, how their personality is and how they interact with each other. You see I'm more that realistic dreamer and find these kawaii-squee-smiley-girls childish anyway.

Q: There are also a lot of yaoi fans here, what do you thnk of this issue?
A: I will NEVER have anything against homosexualitxy, because love is wonderful in any way. I do even like some fancreated boyXboy pairings and I am fan of those, even if they will never happen in real . I do also have a gay pair playing an important role in my upcoming comic. Before you hate me now, most of boys show that they have fantasies about girls making out with each other and suddenly it's disgusting when girls express what they like?
I think it's normal, but many of us girls just express everything more emotional and extreme.
Yes, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the real yaoi. I admit, and I'm not ashamed.

Q: And what' your opinion about haters?
A: Haters gonna hate, I don't care about those and you shouldn't either.

:star:- About my art and materials- :star:

Q: What do you use to make your art?
A: Actually... everything as long as it can be combined with my main mediums. I mostly use COPIC markers (70%), Polychromos coloured pencils (10%), watercolours and acrylics (15%), and other unusual media included nail varnish, flat gold, gemstones, alcohol, salt, pearlshells, crystals etc. Everything is allowed!

Q: How long do you typically spend on each piece?
A: This varies a lot: On smaller drawings without background maximum eight hours, on bigger ones with background around 14 hours and on larger sized drawings (A3 size) sometimes even 30 hours.

Q: What are Copic Markers and polychromos?
A: Just the most amazing art tools EVER. COPIC markers are availale in over 300 colours and they are a great pleasure to work with. Polychromos are coloured pencils with the best quality you can find and are also available in 120 colours that blend perfectly and look just plain awesome, also in combination with markers!
->The official COPIC website

Q: Copic markers and polychromos are really expensive. Where did you get them?
A: Indeed they are. I got my materials cheaper on ebay, because there are sometimes really good offers and deals there. But though, I've spent over $1500 yet on them.

Q: What do you use for inking and lineart?
A: I use Copic multiliners in the sizes 0,03, 0,05 and 0,1 for inking. They're available in many colours and don't bleed at all.

Q: What kind of paper do you use?
A: My favourite kind of paper thick and smooth surfaced cardstock which works really well with markers, coloured pencils and watercolours (my main media) and gives nice, well blended colours and a smooth effect.
I used to work with bristol until I got introduced to cardstock.

Q: How do you keep your colouring tools from covering the lineart?
A: It's impossible to keep colours from colouring lines so I just re-ink my drawings after the colouring is done.

Q: What art technices do you use?
A: I mostly mix traditional mediums, like I draw hair with markers and refine single hairs with coloured pencils for a more realistic look. I also combine watercolours, markers, coloured pencils and alcohol in backgrounds.

Q: Why don't you do more digital art, it would look so much better!
A: I find digital artwork just unpersonal because there is no difference in the artwork you have at home and the drawing a random stanger prints out. It's also pretty boring because there are only two mediums to use: tablet and program.

Q: What do you actually mean with '(very) personal art' and is there a difference to your other artworks?
A: personal or very personal art is mostly art drawn out of an immense moment I went through that caused a lot of emotion, sadly, usually these emotions are bad ones. That is also why I often use my own blood in drawings, because that is the most personal art for me.
I get my blood taken off professionally by my doctor.

Q: Are you currently working on any projects?
A: Between fanart and commissions I am also working on pages and concepts for my comic 'A short story about life and death' (Assalad) which will have around 150-200 pages in three chapters. Check some concept and character art here: kibakazuki.deviantart.com/gall…
I am also working on a photo project about what art really means with IanBanks.

Q: Can I use your artwork on RP forums/facebook/myspace/ etc....?
A:  No. Don't use my art anywhere for this cause except it is specifically done for you. Even then, credit me with my full artist's name and give a link to my site.

Q: Can I repost your images on PhotoBucket/Flickr/Webshots/etc...?
A: As long as you credit me with my full artist's name and full name and post a link to my dA, yes.

Q: Is it alright if I use parts of your drawings and use them as a base for mine?
A: Yes, as long as you credit me with my artist's name and a link to my dA page or the original drawing and don't use it for making money or trades. I'd like to see your finished work, so please show it to me!

Q: Can I use your art to practice my anatomy, colouring, etc.?
A:  Sure, just tell me or show me your finished art.

Q: Is it allowed to draw your characters?
A: Of course! I'm always happy to get fanart and I'd love to see my charcaters drawn by you!

Q: Can I use your charcters as base to create my own?
A: No and no expections. My characters are unique, shall stay unique and cannot be claimed by anyone else.

That's all for now, feel free to post a question and I'll add it up here.

Cheers!
